At the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, we have two goals: to carry on Olmsted’s vision of parks as sources of inspirational beauty, and to provide a mix of contemporary activities for today’s park users. With your help, we can continue to restore and revitalize the parks, parkways, circles and other spaces that touch and enhance our lives.

In 1978, the Conservancy (then known as the Buffalo Friends of Olmsted Parks) was established to broaden awareness of, appreciation for, and investment in the Olmsted park system. Our main goals are to enhance, restore and maintain this historic cultural treasure for the benefit of current and future generations.

Soon we will unveil a system-wide plan for the future of the park system known as our 20 Year Management and Restoration Plan. This plan will provide a blueprint for capital projects and fund-raising strategies, but will also be our roadmap for preserving, restoring and maintaining our historic parks.

The Olmsted Park and Parkway System is already built and is mostly intact, yet it will take committed support and considerable capital dollars to make this multi-faceted jewel shine. So get involved! Join our landscaping group, enjoy Movies in the Meadow, or just take a leisurely walk in one of the nation’s finest Olmsted parks. Show your support by being active in our parks – it’s sure to enrich your life.

Well-maintained and active parks take time, talent and money. But with your help, we can continue to follow Olmsted’s vision, and make an impact on the lives of our families and our neighborhoods. Together, we can create a future as glorious as our past.
